Asset Living’s Compliance Manager, Kasie Linker, Office Love List in Addison, TX

Discover the charm beyond our office walls! Our Office Love List is your guide to the many neighborhood and community perks that make working at Asset Living a delight. In this edition, we're looking into the local gems that add flavor to our workplace within the Addison, Texas, area. Today, we will be hearing from Asset Ambassador and Compliance Manager, Kasie Linker, who works in the Asset Living Dallas Corporate Office.

“Addison is a part of the Dallas Metroplex and gives the small-town charm amid the big city. Everything you can imagine in the Dallas Metroplex is within quick driving distance. If you are outdoorsy, you will find the Great Trinity Forest, the largest Urban Hardwood Forest in the United States. It has 6,000 acres of kayaking, hiking, biking trails, etc. If you are a shopping fanatic, Dallas is home to so many shopping options; from the Dallas Design District to nationally recognized shopping malls, there is something for everyone's style. It is safe to say that Dallas has something for everyone. I love working in a place with so much to offer that creates a space for everyone to fall in love with, regardless of interests or likes. Every day is a new opportunity to find a local gem or meet someone new in Addison," says Linker.

Local Spotlight:

La La Land Kind Cafe is a five-minute drive from the office and has some of the best lattes I've ever had. They also serve coffee with a purpose by hiring and mentoring youth in the foster system. My favorite latte, the Upside-Down Latte, is filled with vanilla and a hint of caramel. If you are in a hurry, you can walk to Java and Hopps. Java and Hopps has great coffee and lattes and serves homemade ice cream from a local creamery. The cappuccino fudge ice cream on a waffle cone or the Banana Nutella Shake makes for a perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Team Favorites:

One of my favorite places in Addison is our 2nd-floor office. Our amazing Culture Committee throws some of the best potlucks and parties. The ability to spend time with all departments and include the local remote employees is one of my favorite things about our fantastic team. Our conference room and kitchen get decked out in festive décor depending on the celebration, and the office turns into a bustle of noise and comradery everywhere you turn.

Favorite Lunchtime Spot:

My favorite lunch spot has to be Mendocino Farms. Mendocino Farms has some of the BEST lunch sandwiches and salads around. They love to take everyday menu items and add a twist while using fresh ingredients. Plus, they have a Pomegranate Mint Lemonade that will make your mouth water! Another favorite lunch spot is RA Sushi Bar. When my husband worked nearby, we used to grab lunch together there frequently. RA Sushi Bar has plenty of seating to get you in and out quickly, and their Viva Las Vegas Roll is phenomenal.

Team Bonding Adventures:

My favorite team bonding adventure was when our entire compliance team flew into Addison for our annual compliance conference. We took over the corporate conference room, and once all the meetings were done for the day, we had a great time with dinner and games at a local hotspot called Sidecar Social. They have cornhole, foosball, darts, basketball hoops, and live music. Our compliance team is spread across the United States, so it is always a joy when we come together!
