In this edition, we're looking into the local gems that add flavor to our workplace within the Atlanta area. Today, we will be hearing from Asset Ambassador and Regional Manager, Sam Hoard, who works in the Asset Living Atlanta Corporate Office.
Our Atlanta office is in the Perimeter neighborhood of Atlanta, central to many of our great city offerings! You’re a quick drive or train ride from the Buckhead and Midtown scenes, where you can always catch a great concert or play, and just a stone’s throw from some of the best neighborhoods Atlanta has to offer: Brookhaven, Chamblee, Dunwoody, and Roswell to name a few! It is a Foodie’s Paradise, Buford Highway, is a short drive away and home to every international cuisine you can imagine. If you’re a sports fan, you can easily get from the Perimeter to catch a Braves game at the Battery, watch the Hawks soar at State Farm Arena, or enjoy the many sports at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Local Spotlight:
A long-time farmer’s market favorite, Bronx Bagel Buggy, opened a brick-and-mortar location in Chamblee in early 2024 and has some of the best NYC-style bagels in the city! They have unique pairings, like a rosemary and sea salt bagel, roasted tomato, basil and garlic bialy, and jalapeño strawberry cream cheese, that are delicious. Plan your trip wisely; if you go after 9 a.m., you’re likely to run into a line outside the door.
Team Favorites:
I'm a big fan of our informal conference room, or as we call it, "The War Room." The dry-erase wall lends well to brainstorming or road mapping big projects and initiatives. If you've got team members who can't make it in person, Zoom's capabilities are perfect for keeping them connected remotely. It's a great place to hunker down and make things happen.
Favorite Lunchtime Spot:
One of the many perks of our office's location is the great food options. Our team does a lot of DoorDashing, but if we get the chance to go out to eat together, the usual suspects are Joey D's, Mad Italian, Pure Taqueria, or Haven.
Team Bonding Adventures:
We've always emphasized bringing the office together for fun, fellowship, and fitness through our high-five committee. They do a great job coordinating activities for us, my favorite being our last "field day" at the Park at Pernoshal Court. Getting together in a relaxed, outdoor setting allows everyone to spend valuable time together in person.
