Asset Living’s Zeke Cook Shares Advice on #BecomingAnAsset

Understanding how to build a successful team starts with learning from those who have worked hard to develop and shape their career to become an integral part of the team. In the #BecomingAnAsset series, we ask Asset Living employees to share advice for those looking to grow personally and professionally – from turning challenges into opportunities for career development to persevering towards a promotion – our team members are full of quality advice that can help to guide anyone towards success. Today we are hearing from Zeke Cook, Marketing Coordinator.

What is your background and experience in and what do you do within Asset Living?

"From being an RA in college to later helping with some projects while working at the local university campus housing websites, my career in property management began flourishing. Most of my career has been in sales and education until I joined Trinity Multifamily as part of the IT Department and then, three years ago, began overseeing the company websites and all property sites. Since Trinity joined the Asset Living family, I began working in the Marketing Department and have continued to work on property websites and many other exciting things."

What piece of advice would you give to a new employee who is #BecomingAnAsset?

“Celebrate your uniqueness!  We are constantly facing different scenarios in the workplace, and we need diversity in thought to come up with the best practices and solutions.”

What drives you to be the best team member possible?

"I have been described as slightly competitive a few times in my life, and I'm not going to deny that I am in certain situations. When I learned that Trinity was joining Asset Living, a personal goal of mine was to see that the transition went as smoothly as possible in the areas I was involved. I wanted to ensure that both the business and the people in the business were successful. Ultimately, I like to win. It all goes back to my competitive mindset, with a touch of perfectionism."

What is your favorite memory from this year or within your career at Asset Living?

"My favorite memory has to be when I first met Tiffany Blau. After months of phone calls and Teams meetings, I finally met her, and she was very welcoming and charismatic. She even introduced herself to me with a hug, and I thought it was very nice of her."

Lastly, what do you like to do outside of work in your free time?

“Often my weekends are spent with Pete, my dog, at a dog show. I also enjoy nothing more than spending time with my friends, nieces, and nephews and with my chickens.”
