Can you share a few of your career highlights?
“Mentoring staff is the highlight. I’ve worked at Asset Living for 37 years and have gained experience in accounting, cash projections, and HUD knowledge. It is fulfilling to train and teach staff and to see staff members absorb that information and grow. It’s good for our department and it’s good for the company.”
What are some of your greatest work memories or what has been the most rewarding part of your career?
“Some of the most rewarding parts of my career have been interacting with clients, managing their specific technical requirements, and meeting their expectations on a timely basis. It’s been so rewarding to receive positive feedback from other accounting firms we collaborate with – for example, our department has been praised for being highly reliable and quick to respond.”
What has been some of the best career advice or lessons learned throughout your career?
“Think about your audience, meaning whatever you present to someone (regardless of level), make sure it is clear, concise, and complete. The easier you make communication with your audience, the easier they will be on you.
Also, do not ask your staff to do anything you would not do. Return loyalty with loyalty.”
