Spring Cleaning Checklist for Apartment Living

As winter ends and spring emerges, there is no better time than today to get started on some seasonal cleaning and organizing. At Asset Living, our property managers and onsite teams have a process for seasonal maintenance and upkeep. While seasonal cleaning and maintenance can seem like a challenge, our team compiled a simple checklist that can serve as a useful tool for anyone to hit the ground running to get an apartment clean in no time!

Sometimes things need to get messy before they can get clean.

  • Start in one room and clean out all the drawers, cabinets, closets, and other areas where items could be hiding.
  • Create piles to keep, donate or throw out items that are no longer needed.
  • Wipe down, sweep and vacuum the nooks and crannies before organizing items back into their assigned spot.

It starts at the top – then work your way down.

  • Clean any windows, wipe down any ceiling fans and dust any light fixtures and/or shelving.
  • Shake out any rugs, mats, or pet bedding on the floor.
  • Remove everything from the floor to allow for sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.

Do not overlook the details – they matter.

  • Put away any clutter to allow for a final wipe down of all surfaces that can collect dust.
  • Clean outside and inside of kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, and other miscellaneous appliances.
  • Sweep the front and back patio or porch.
