HOUSTON (May 13, 2022) – Asset Living, ranked the No. 1 third-party property management company in the U.S. by Student Housing Business for the 11th year in a row, had four student housing experts speak on panels at the 14th annual InterFace Student Housing Conference in Austin, TX. This included Asset Living Principal Julie Bonnin who served as a moderator on the first W. Collective panel – an effort that was led by the W. Collective organization that supports all women who work in the student housing industry by providing year-round resources, education, and a networking forum to connect with other female leaders in the space.
“The W. Collective panel got InterFace Student Housing off to a strong and inspiring start. Both the speakers and moderators were offered great insight and commentary that came from the heart,” said Senior Vice President of InterFace Conference Group and Publisher of Student Housing Business Richard Kelley. “In my many years of being involved with conferences and panels I have never seen a discussion inspire a spontaneous standing ovation the way the W. Collective did, and it’s something I will never forget.”
The W. Collective panel discussion focused on the next generation of female leadership while connecting and empowering women in the industry by sharing insights and experiences. As an executive chair of the W. Collective organization, Julie Bonnin worked closely with the other members – including W. Collective founding member, Whitney Kidd, who was the catalyst in creating this group and partnership with the InterFace Student Housing Conference. Outside of W. Collective, Kidd is the Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of ROVR Score which provides owners and operators a platform that monitors, ranks, and promotes the strength of WiFi and cellular connectivity for multi-family and student communities across the nation.
"It's always an honor to participate in the Interface Student Housing Conference panels with my industry colleagues. I'm blessed and fortunate to have had an opportunity to moderate the first-ever W. Collective panel,” said Bonnin. “As a supporter of the organization and its mission, I was impressed with the powerful discussion that focused on empowering female leaders within real estate."
The successful debut and positive response to the W. Collective panel will likely lead to it returning to the InterFace Student Housing Conference agenda in 2023. Bonnin also plans to work with other members of W. Collective to establish a mentorship program that could be offered to members of the organization in the near future.
